Green Tea Extract Can Protect Your Muscles from Damage

Here's some good news about a really healthy diet supplement: green tea extract can protect your muscles from "exercise-induced" damage. A new study showed that people who took 640 mg of polyphenol-rich green tea extract every day had significantly less oxidative damage after performing heavy strength training exercise.

What does this mean for you? Possibly faster recovery, less muscle soreness, and a reduced chance of overtraining (and its many health-related consequences) after lifting weights or performing other intense training!

Onion Juice Boosts Testosterone BIG Time

Looking for a dirt-cheap, safe, and natural way to triple your testosterone levels? Then you might want to start drinking onion juice every day. Researchers in Iran recently found that it raises "test" levels as much as some steroids... at least in rats.

How? It has to do with antioxidants -- probably selenium compounds and quercetin -- in the juice reducing the concentration of free radicals in the body in a way that boosts testosterone production.

Of course, the Buzz Killingtons over at reddit are already saying that rats and humans are too different for the effects to be similar. But what do they know??

Workout for 15 Minutes Per Day, Live Longer

Just 15 minutes of moderate exercise a day is enough to give you a significantly longer life, according to a new Taiwanese study. Researchers looked at over 400,000 people for 13 years and found that people who got 15 minutes of "real" exercise (like brisk walking) per day lived about 3 years longer than those who didn't.

Since most people have a hard time following the standard 30-minutes-per-day exercise guidelines experts hope that this new "lower dose" recommendation will motivate the lazy.
